Connecting a payment gateway

Card payments โ€” at the register, on invoices, and in your storefront โ€” go through a gateway you connect with your own account, so funds settle directly to you.

Supported gateways

Configure any combination under Settings โ†’ General โ†’ Payment:

  • Stripe โ€” cards, wallets, Terminal hardware, and saved cards for recurring billing.
  • Square โ€” cards and Square terminals, with Apple Pay and Google Pay on payment pages.
  • PayPal โ€” PayPal balance and cards.
  • WiPay โ€” Caribbean card processing.
  • First Atlantic Commerce โ€” Caribbean card processing via a hosted page.

Adding your credentials

Paste the keys from your gateway dashboard. They are encrypted at rest and masked when the settings are read back, so a key can never be recovered from the screen. Payment settings are never inherited from platform defaults โ€” each business must supply its own.

Start with test credentials, ring a test transaction end to end, then switch to live.

Webhooks from your gateway

Gateways confirm payments by calling back to SalesPoint360, and those callbacks are verified strictly: an unsigned or wrongly signed callback is rejected outright. That means the webhook signing secret must be configured โ€” without it, valid confirmations are refused too. Set it at the same time as the API keys, not later.

Card terminals

Stripe Terminal and Square readers are registered under Settings โ†’ Hardware and paired to a register. The amount is pushed to the terminal and the sale waits for approval, so totals are never keyed twice.

Saved cards and recurring payments

With Stripe, customers can store a card in the customer portal and recurring invoices are charged automatically, falling back to an emailed payment link if a charge fails. Card numbers go straight to the gateway โ€” SalesPoint360 only ever holds a token.

Surcharges

Where your rules permit it, a card surcharge can be applied per gateway or per card brand. It is shown as its own line so the customer sees it before they pay.

Note: your business can rename menu items (Settings โ†’ POS Configuration โ†’ Menu Labels), so the names in your menu may differ from those shown here.
