Connecting a payment gateway

A card payment routed through a connected gateway

Card payments — at the register, on invoices, and in your storefront — go through a gateway you connect with your own account, so funds settle directly to you.

Supported gateways

Configure any combination under Settings → General → Payment:

  • Stripe — cards, wallets, Terminal hardware, and saved cards for recurring billing.
  • Square — cards and Square terminals, with Apple Pay and Google Pay on payment pages.
  • PayPal — PayPal balance and cards.
  • WiPay — Caribbean card processing.
  • First Atlantic Commerce — Caribbean card processing via a hosted page.

Adding your credentials

Paste the keys from your gateway dashboard. They are encrypted at rest and masked when the settings are read back, so a key can never be recovered from the screen. Payment settings are never inherited from platform defaults — each business must supply its own.

Start with test credentials, ring a test transaction end to end, then switch to live.

Webhooks from your gateway

Gateways confirm payments by calling back to SalesPoint360, and those callbacks are verified strictly: an unsigned or wrongly signed callback is rejected outright. That means the webhook signing secret must be configured — without it, valid confirmations are refused too. Set it at the same time as the API keys, not later.

Card terminals

Stripe Terminal and Square readers are registered under Settings → Hardware and paired to a register. The amount is pushed to the terminal and the sale waits for approval, so totals are never keyed twice.

Saved cards and recurring payments

With Stripe, customers can store a card in the customer portal and recurring invoices are charged automatically, falling back to an emailed payment link if a charge fails. Card numbers go straight to the gateway — SalesPoint360 only ever holds a token.

Surcharges

Where your rules permit it, a card surcharge can be applied per gateway or per card brand. It is shown as its own line so the customer sees it before they pay.

Note: your business can rename menu items (Settings → POS Configuration → Menu Labels), so the names in your menu may differ from those shown here.
