Connecting hardware: printers, scanners, drawers & scales
SalesPoint360 runs in a browser, on desktop, and as native mobile apps, and each of those reaches hardware slightly differently. Configure devices under Settings → Hardware.
Receipt printers
Thermal receipts are formatted for 80mm paper with your logo and trading details. How they print depends on where you are running:
- Desktop app — prints straight to a USB printer through the native bridge.
- iOS and Android — pair a Bluetooth thermal printer once and the app remembers it.
- Browser — uses the normal print dialog; choose your thermal printer and set the paper size to 80mm.
Barcode scanners
Most USB and Bluetooth scanners behave as keyboards, so they work with no setup at all — just scan while the register is on screen. On a phone or tablet, the camera doubles as a scanner. If a scan does nothing, check that the scanner is set to send a carriage return at the end of each code.
Cash drawers
A drawer wired to the printer's kick port opens automatically on cash payments. Bluetooth drawers pair through the app. Manual opens (for a paid-out or a float top-up) are recorded in cash management so the drawer still reconciles.
Scales
For products sold by weight, connect a supported scale and mark the product as sold by weight. The register captures the weight instead of a whole-number quantity and prices it per unit of weight — set the product's weight unit so grams and kilos are not mixed up.
Label printers
Shelf and product labels print from Catalog → Barcode Labels. Sheet labels (Avery and similar) print through the browser; Phomemo-style portable label printers print as raster images over Bluetooth from the mobile apps.
Card terminals
Stripe Terminal and Square terminals are registered under Hardware Config and paired to a register. At checkout the amount is pushed to the terminal, the customer taps or inserts, and the register waits for the result before completing the sale — no keying totals twice.
Note: your business can rename menu items (Settings → POS Configuration → Menu Labels), so the names in your menu may differ from those shown here.
