Custom framing
On this page
The framing module turns a customer's artwork into a priced quote and then a tracked workshop job.
The frame calculator
Custom Framing โ Frame Calculator is where a job starts. Enter the artwork size, then choose across the material tabs โ moulding, mats, glazing, hardware, mounting, and extras. As you pick, the computed dimensions update live (visible art size, mat opening, glass size, outer frame size) beside a cross-section preview.
Mat colours show as swatches and mouldings show corner samples, so you are choosing by eye rather than by code. Ready-made frames at fixed sizes are a separate tab.
Materials and pricing
Stock lives under Materials โ mouldings by the foot, matboards and glazing by the sheet โ with Pricing Rules driving the maths. Packages bundle a frame, mat and glass combination at a set price, which you can apply in the calculator in one click.
Work orders
Convert a quote into a Work Order with a due date, priority, and deposit. From there you can print any of several documents: a customer estimate, the shop work order, art ID tags, and cut lists for the frame and the matboard.
Production
The Production Board is a drag-and-drop kanban by stage. Time Tracking records who worked on what and for how long, Quality Control runs a checklist before the job goes out, and the Rework Log records anything that had to be redone and why.
Moving a job to cutting deducts the moulding footage and sheets from stock automatically.
Waste and offcuts
Offcuts keeps usable remnants findable for the next job, and Waste Tracking shows what is being lost by material โ usually the fastest margin win in a framing shop.
Customers
Customers can submit a Quote Request with a photo from your website, approve or decline the quote online, and follow their order's progress.
Note: your business can rename menu items (Settings โ POS Configuration โ Menu Labels), so the names in your menu may differ from those shown here.
