A percentage discount applied to a sale

SalesPoint360 has several ways to take money off a sale, and they stack in a defined order so your margins stay predictable.

How a final price is arrived at
The order in which pricing rules, discounts and tax are applied.

Manual discounts

At the register a cashier can discount a single line or the whole cart, as a fixed amount or a percentage. Percentages are capped at 100% and negative discounts are refused, so a mistyped figure cannot turn into a payout. Whether a cashier may discount at all is a role permission.

Coupon codes

Create codes under Marketing → Coupons & Discounts with an amount or a percentage, an expiry date, a usage limit, and a minimum spend. Cashiers key or scan the code at checkout; the server validates it and records the redemption, so a single-use code cannot be reused on another till.

Time-based pricing

Happy hour and similar rules live under Marketing → Time-Based Pricing. Define which products, which days, and which hours, and the register applies the price automatically inside the window — nobody has to remember to switch it on at five o'clock.

Bundles and combos

A bundle is a set of products sold together at a better price. Define it under Catalog → Bundles & Combos with either a fixed bundle price or a percentage off. When the cart contains the components, the bundle price is applied automatically.

Customer group pricing

Put customers into a group — trade, staff, wholesale — and give the group a standing discount or tax-exempt status. Attach the customer at the register and the pricing follows them without anyone keying a discount.

Seeing what it cost you

Discounts are reported separately from sales, so you can see the value given away by period, by cashier, and by product. The coupon analytics view goes further: usage over time, top codes, and the revenue impact of each campaign.

Keeping discounting under control

Restrict the discount permission to supervisors, set sensible coupon expiries and usage caps, and review the discount report weekly. Anomaly detection also flags cashiers whose discounting sits well outside the norm.

Note: your business can rename menu items (Settings → POS Configuration → Menu Labels), so the names in your menu may differ from those shown here.
