Loyalty programmes, tiers & gift cards
On this page
Loyalty and gift cards live together under Customers โ Loyalty & Gift Cards. Both are balance-bearing, so both are handled carefully at the register.
Choosing a programme
Create one programme and pick its shape:
- Points โ earn points per unit of spend, redeem them against future purchases.
- Cashback โ accrue a percentage of spend as credit.
- Tiered โ points plus tiers that unlock better rates or perks.
Set the earn rate, the redemption value, and any exclusions, then enable it. From that point, any sale with a customer attached earns automatically.
Redeeming points
At checkout, choose loyalty points as a tender. The balance is checked and drawn down as part of the sale itself, so two tills cannot spend the same points. Refunding a sale reverses the points it earned, and never takes a balance below zero.
Tiers
Add tiers โ Bronze, Silver, Gold, or your own names โ with thresholds and benefits. A customer's tier shows on their record, on the register when they are attached, and on their loyalty card in the customer portal, with a progress bar to the next level.
Gift cards
Issue a gift card with a code, a starting balance, and an optional expiry. Sell them at the register or online through your storefront. Redemption is by scanning or keying the code, and every issue, redemption, and reload is recorded in the gift-card ledger.
Gift cards need a live connection to redeem, because the balance is shared across every till.
Referrals
The referral programme gives existing customers a code to share and tracks the reward when a referral converts โ visible in referral analytics alongside conversion rate and reward cost.
Measuring it
Loyalty analytics covers member growth, redemption rate, tier distribution, and outstanding gift-card liability โ that last one matters, because unredeemed balances are money you owe.
Note: your business can rename menu items (Settings โ POS Configuration โ Menu Labels), so the names in your menu may differ from those shown here.
