Managing customers & customer groups
On this page
Attaching a customer to a sale turns a transaction into a relationship: history, loyalty, tailored pricing, and something to segment on later.
Adding customers
Create customers under Customers in the portal, or on the fly at the register while ringing a sale. Records hold name, email, phone, address, notes, and a full purchase history. Search is fast enough to use mid-sale — press F3 at the register.
The customer record
Open a customer to see everything in one place: total spent, average order value, outstanding balances across invoices, layaways, rentals and tabs, loyalty points and tier, recent purchases, and their quotes, returns, appointments, and reservations.
Notes can be pinned so anything important — an allergy, an account arrangement, a delivery instruction — is the first thing the next person sees.
Customer groups
A group is a segment with rules attached: trade customers, staff, members, wholesale. Give a group a standing discount or tax-exempt status and every member gets it automatically when attached to a sale — no manual discounting and no forgetting.
Manage membership from the group's Members panel, searching and adding customers directly.
Segments and marketing
Beyond fixed groups, build segments from behaviour — customers who have not bought in ninety days, top spenders, people who bought a particular product — and use them as the audience for an email or SMS campaign.
Customer intelligence
On the higher plans, SalesPoint360 scores customers for churn risk, estimates lifetime value, and produces RFM segments (recency, frequency, monetary value), so retention effort goes where it will matter.
Privacy
Only collect what you need, and remember that customers can manage their own details in the customer portal. Deleting a customer archives the record — their past sales stay in your accounts, as they must.
