Queue management & wait times
On this page
Where customers wait, a managed queue turns an anxious huddle into an orderly one. Manage it under Restaurant & Appointments → Queue.
Issuing tickets
Issue a numbered ticket at the counter, or let customers take one themselves at a self-check-in kiosk. Each ticket records the party, what they are waiting for, and when they joined.
Showing progress
A queue display board on a screen shows the numbers now being served and those next. It answers the only question waiting customers actually have, which is whether they have been forgotten.
Calling and notifying
Call the next ticket from the register. Customers who gave a phone number can be texted when their turn approaches, so they can wait somewhere more comfortable — which is the whole point of a virtual queue.
Wait time estimates
Wait Time estimates how long a new arrival will wait, based on the current queue and how fast you are actually serving. Show it at check-in and send updates by text as it changes.
Be honest with the estimate. A quoted fifteen minutes that turns into thirty does more damage than quoting thirty up front.
Restaurant waitlists
In restaurant mode the waitlist works with reservations and tables: position is tracked, parties are notified when a table is ready, and no-shows are recorded so the pattern is visible.
What to watch
Queue analytics shows wait times by hour and by day, how often you exceed your target, and where the peaks are. It is usually the clearest argument for changing a shift pattern.
Note: your business can rename menu items (Settings → POS Configuration → Menu Labels), so the names in your menu may differ from those shown here.
