Reading your reports & dashboards

A sales trend chart on the reports dashboard

Analytics is where the day's activity turns into decisions. Every report filters by date range and, for multi-store businesses, by store.

The dashboard first

Your dashboard is the daily read: today's sales, transaction count, average basket, top products, and low-stock warnings, with a comparison against the previous period. It adapts to your role, so a cashier, a manager, and an accountant each land on what is relevant to them.

The reports that answer most questions

  • Sales — revenue over time, by store, by cashier, by payment method, with week-on-week and year-on-year comparison.
  • Products — best and worst sellers by units and by revenue, and margin where you record cost.
  • Inventory — stock on hand and its value, turnover, dead stock, and what is expiring.
  • Customers — acquisition, retention cohorts, and top spenders.
  • Daily close — the Z-report figures: takings by tender, tax, discounts, refunds, and cash variance.

Deeper analytics

Beyond the core reports there are dedicated analytics views for online orders, returns, coupons, purchase orders, transfers, queues, tips, loyalty, appointments, staff, and finance — each with the charts that suit that part of the business.

Build your own

The report builder lets you choose the fields, filters, and grouping you want when a standard report is close but not quite right. Save it and it is there next time.

Exporting and scheduling

Any report exports to CSV for your spreadsheet or your accountant. Scheduled reports email themselves to the right people on a recurring basis, which is far more reliable than remembering to run them.

Two things that catch people out

Sales rung in training mode are excluded from reports by design. And in a multi-currency business, reported totals are converted to your base currency at the rate stored on each document, so a report total will not always equal the sum of the foreign-currency figures on screen.
