Menu boards & digital signage
On this page
Digital menu boards show your menu on screens in the shop, driven by the same catalogue the register uses — so a price change happens in one place.
Building a board
Under Operations → Menu Boards, create a board and choose what it shows: categories, specific products, prices, images, and your own headings. Different screens can carry different boards, so a drinks screen and a food screen are separate.
Putting it on a screen
Each board has its own public address. Open it in a browser on the display device — a smart TV, a media stick, or a small computer — and leave it running full screen. It refreshes itself, so a price or availability change appears without anyone touching the screen.
The address carries a token, so only someone with the link can display it.
Keeping it current
Because boards read the live catalogue, marking an item unavailable removes it from the screen. That alone justifies the feature: nothing annoys a queue like ordering something that ran out at lunchtime.
Other customer-facing screens
- Customer display — shows the basket as it is rung, with idle promotional content between sales.
- Queue display — the numbers being served.
- Order status — progress for collection and delivery orders.
- Sales display — an internal board for targets and performance.
Practical setup
- Design for the viewing distance — fewer items, larger type than feels right on your monitor.
- Set the device to wake and open the board automatically after a power cut.
- Use a wired connection where you can; a board that drops off the network is worse than a printed one.
Note: your business can rename menu items (Settings → POS Configuration → Menu Labels), so the names in your menu may differ from those shown here.
