The AI suite: what it does and what it needs
On this page
SalesPoint360 includes a set of AI features that read your own trading data and tell you something useful about it. They live under AI Tools.
What is in it
- AI Assistant โ ask questions about your business in plain language.
- Insights โ a short read of what changed and what deserves attention.
- Recommendations โ frequently bought together, cross-sell, and basket analysis.
- Customer & Inventory Intelligence โ churn risk, lifetime value, ABC analysis, slow movers.
- Anomaly Detection โ unusual transactions and per-cashier risk scores.
- Smart Promotions & Smart Scheduling โ what to discount, and how many staff to roster.
- Invoice Scanner โ read a supplier invoice or receipt from a photo or PDF.
Switching it on
AI features need a provider key, added under Settings โ General โ AI. Several providers are supported and you use your own account, so you control the spend and the data relationship.
What happens without a key
Most features still work. They fall back to statistical analysis over your own data โ ABC analysis, RFM segments, reorder points and anomaly scoring are all arithmetic, not language models. What needs a key is anything that has to write or read prose: the assistant, sentiment analysis, and document scanning.
What it sees
Only the data needed for the question, drawn from your own account. Send nothing to a provider you would not be comfortable sharing, and remember that customer names and contact details are personal data.
Treat it as a colleague, not an oracle
These features are good at spotting patterns and bad at knowing context. A slow mover may be a deliberate range item; a flagged cashier may work the shift with the most refunds. Check what you are told before acting on it.
Usage
AI calls count against your plan's monthly allowance, visible under Settings โ Billing & Plan โ Usage.
Note: your business can rename menu items (Settings โ POS Configuration โ Menu Labels), so the names in your menu may differ from those shown here.
